A pennyboard is especially well suited for cruising and can also be used for a few street tricks. If you want fun rides as well as a bit of street skating, a pennyboard is a great choice. There are two main sizes: 22" (Classic) and 27" (Nickel / Big Mamma).
The 22" model is smaller and very easy to carry. It works well for kids, for anyone who wants a compact board, and for those who prioritise portability — for example taking it in a backpack or into class. The smaller platform does, however, require a bit more balance than the longer version.
The 27" models suit teens and adults with larger feet and/or anyone who wants more stability. The longer, wider deck gives more foot space and a more secure feel — while a Classic feels more agile, but also less stable, simply because you have less surface to stand on and control the board with.
Both sizes are made for the same kind of penny skating. The key difference is size — and with that, the better stability of the 27" version.
